      The Van Dyke.

      Start clean shaven and wait for your hair to grow out. 
      Trim your newly grown beard into a circle beard (see below) and rinse off all residue of shaving cream or excess hair. 
      Use a cut throat or electric razor to create a goatee by shaving your neck carefully. 
      Using scissors and a razor disconnect your moustache from your beard and trim to the desired length. 
      To create the pointed hair effect use good quality wax. Make sure you keep this look maintained as it is high maintenance. 

      The Clean Jaw. 

      Keeping a clean jaw is hard work and those with sensitive skin should think carefully about whether they want to risk the upkeep. 
      Press a warm flannel to the area to open up your pores and trim with an electric razor. 
      Start with the razor at a long setting and work your way down to shorter lengths. 
      Feel for the spot under your jawbone where the skin is soft and push at this; this is the spot where you want to create your natural edge for your neckline. 
      Apply cold water after shaving. 
      (Products with alcohol dry out your skin.) 

      The Goatee. 

      This look requires a clean neckline to be fully appreciated. 
      Shape your chin hair with a cut throat or electric razor and ensure you shave all hair off. 
      Stubble does not look good alongside a goatee. 
      Trim your beard with scissors to give it a clean edge and sharp cut. 
      The edges of the goatee shouldn't extend
      past the smile lines of your face. 
      Use beard wax and a comb to shape your goatee into the desired shape. 
      This look will need to be maintained every few days to stay sharp. 
      (Apply cold water, aftershave or witch hazel to your face immediately after hair removal.) 

      The Round. 

      The Round is one of the easier styles of beard to maintain and became popular in the 90's. 
      This easy style can look good with stubble or without. 
      Grow out your beard and decide where you want to have it coming out to. A good size is approximately 2 inches to both sides of your mouth. 
      Begin by shaving off your sideburns as well as most of the hair on your cheeks. 
      Shave the hair at the bottom and side of your neck and stop just above your Adam’s apple. Shampoo and condition your beard at least once a week to moisturise your hair and stop irritation. 
      Exfoliate daily to avoid ingrown hairs. 

      The Tamed Bush. 

      The easiest of style this low maintenance style only requires a trim once a week and is easy to clean with shampoo and conditioner. 
      Decide what shape you want your full beard to be; the easiest and cleanest look is to have it following the shape of your jaw to accentuate your face. 
      Use an electric razor or trimmer to tidy of the edges around your cheeks. 
      Use an electric beard trimmer to get your desired length. 
      If you really want a sharp edge to finish off the look using a comb and barber scissors for a completely clean cut look. 
      (Rinse your blade after each shaving stroke to clean gel foam. and hairs from the blade.)
