BEARD GROOMING GUIDE: WHY GROOM? WHAT TO DO? WHAT YOU NEED?

Congratulations, you’ve spent the last three months growing your beard our. you've made it through the Awkward phase and you're starting to feel like the alpha male compared to your nude-faced compatriots. Now, how do you keep that chin curtain from getting out of control?

WHAT YOU NEED?



WHAT TO DO?


1- Comb Your Beard with the Grain 








2- Pick a Guard 

Start with a #4 guard and work 
down if you want to go shorter. 
GuArd No. Length
#4 =  1/2 inch #2 = 1/4 inch 
#3 = 3/8 inch #1 = 1/8 inch 


3- Start with the Sides 

i. You can go with or against the grain. 
ii. Just go slow and steady and don‘t push down too hard. 







4- Define That Neckline

i. Look straight ahead in the mirror. 
ii. Imagine a curved line that goes from behind your ears along where your neck meets the underside of  your chin. or try the double chin method: tilt your face down and you'll see a natural line where your chin creases. 
iii. You want to shave everything under that line. 



5- You Can Either Fade the Neckline...or Shave a Clean Line 

A. To Fade, go down about two guard sizes.
i. Stretch your neck skin and trim upwards for about 1/2 an inch.
B. For a clean line, take off the guard 
i. Follow the neckline and slowly sculpt that line. 


6- What You Don’t Want: Bad Necklines 

i. too high (on your jawline).
ii. A double chin



7- Do The Same
Thing On Your Cheeks: Fade or Clean Line

i. Follow your smile lines. 



8- Trim Your Mustache 

i. Start with a higher guard and work with the grain. 
ii. Go from the middle to the edges of the mouth 




9- Clean Up Any Stragglers with Your Scissors 






10- Finish It Off with Some Scented Beard Oil 





11- Put on a Three-piece Suit, Pick Up Some Flowers, and Go Woo Your Woman
